A 28-year-old man has appeared in court in connection with an alleged indecent assault in Dunfermline last weekend.
Mattiuallah Safri of no fixed abode made a private appearance at the town’s sheriff court on Monday on a petition alleging a charge of sexual assault.
He made no plea and he was committed for further examination and remanded in custody.
A date for his next court appearance has yet to be confirmed.
Safri’s arrest follows an incident in Pittencrieff Park on the afternoon of Sunday April 30, which left a 24-year-old woman unhurt but very distressed.
It happened near he park entrance by Dunfermline Abbey while the area was busy with families and dog walkers.
Detectives in Dunfermline CID have thanked the public for their assistance with the investigation.
