An investigation is underway into the sudden death of a woman in Kirkcaldy.
Police were called to a block of flats on Tiree Place in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
They found the body of a 24-year-old woman. Her name has not been released.
Police say inquiries are ongoing but the death is not being treated as suspicious.
An eyewitness said: “I saw police at one of the blocks of flats on the street on Wednesday morning.
“I heard someone died in one of the flats, but I’ve no idea how it happened.
“It’s such a shame and you really feel for their family.”
Death not suspicious
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were called around 00.40am on Wednesday to a report of a sudden death within a property on Tiree Place, Kirkcaldy.
“The body of a 24-year-old woman was found within.
“Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances but the death is not believed to be suspicious.”
