A section of the A92 at Glenrothes is going to be closed overnight for one week due to roadworks.

The northbound carriageway on the approach to the Preston Roundabout will benefit be resurfaced.

The work by Amey, on behalf of Transport Scotland, starts on Monday and will run until April 1.

It will be completed overnight, from 7.30pm until 6.30am.

Diversion due to A92 Glenrothes roadworks

On Monday one lane will be closed during the day for preparation work.

A lane closure will also be in place northbound during the day to protect cooling material.

All traffic management is to be removed by 6.30am on Saturday April 1.

A diversion will be in place, taking traffic left at the Bankhead Roundabout on to the B921 towards Southfield Roundabout near Michael Woods Sports and Leisure Centre.

Drivers will need to continue on the B969 towards Leslie Roundabout and will then be diverted along the A911 through the town centre towards Preston Roundabout.

The roadworks may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather is poor.

A spokesperson for Amey added: “The improvements will benefit more than 24,000 vehicles who use this route each day, creating a smoother ride for motorists and reducing the need for ongoing maintenance.”
