Police in Fife have conducted a shoreline search in a bid to locate a missing person in the Burntisland area.
The unnamed man was last seen at around 2.45 am on Friday at the junction of Kirkton Road and Kirkton Drive after exiting a white Mercedes Vito taxi.
When leaving the taxi the man has made comments that have led police to be concerned about his safety.
He is described as white, aged 45-50 years-old with a bald head and with a red goatee beard and is believed to be wearing blue jeans and a dark top.
It is believed that he could reside in the Inverkeithing area.
Inspector Mike Matthewson, Dunfermline Police Station, said: “We are very concerned for this man’s welfare and it is important that we trace him as soon as possible.
“I would ask anyone who was in the area of Kirkton Road or Kirkton Drive at that time of the morning and saw a man getting out of a white taxi, matching this gentleman’s description, to get in touch with us as soon as possible.
Similarly anyone who recognises the description of this man, who is a friend or an associate and hasn’t seen or heard from him in the last couple of days to get in touch.”
Anyone who recognises the man’s description is urged to contact Police Scotland via 101, quoting incident number 0339 of 19th May as soon as possible
