A Fife man who sexually assaulted a woman at a historic highland games ended up getting his teeth bashed in for his efforts.
Grant Imrie required dental surgery and has now been placed on the Sex Offenders Register.
Imrie, of Laurel Brae, Springfield, sat beside his victim during a day’s drinking at Ceres Highland Games.
He grabbed her waist and attempted to kiss her on the cheek until he managed to do so.
Her partner, who was with her, challenged him on his behaviour and Imrie punched him on the head.
After he got up to leave, Imrie was attacked, to the extent he needed dental surgery.
Range of punishments
His solicitor previously told the court Imrie had consumed so much alcohol he could scarcely remember what happened.
Solicitor David Bell said: “Regrettably Mr Imrie consumed a large amount of alcohol that day.
“He has no recollection of the incident.”
Sheriff George Way ordered him to pay his victim £250 in compensation.
He will also have to complete 150 hours of community service, reduced from 200 because of his early plea.
Imrie will be subject to a supervision order and on the Register for 12 months.
