Tributes have been paid to a Partick Thistle fan who died while travelling back from his side’s game with Raith Rovers in Kirkcaldy.
Marc Becci is understood to have collapsed while waiting for a train home from the Fife town on Friday night.
He had attended Thistle’s 2-2 draw with Rovers in the Championship.
Partick Thistle ‘deeply saddened’
A statement from Partick Thistle said: “All at Partick Thistle are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of supporter Marc Becci, better known as Sketch to his friends, who was travelling home after (Friday) night’s fixture against Raith Rovers.
“The thoughts of everyone at the club and of all Thistle supporters are with Marc’s family and friends at this desperately sad time.”
A Raith Rovers official told The Courier: “We are upset and saddened to hear about the passing of Marc Becci.
“We wish to pass on our respects to his nearest and dearest. No one should go to a football match and not come home.”
‘A great Thistle man’
Fans have paid tribute to Marc on the Partick Thistle Facebook page.
One said: “A more genuine lovely man you could not meet. RIP my friend, you’ll be sadly missed.”
Another said: “Unbelievable. Tragic sad news. Was a great Thistle man.
RIP mate.”
One Raith Rovers fan said: “Thoughts with the family and all at Partick Thistle at this sad time from all at Raith Rovers FC.”
