Hill Road west of Ballingry was blocked to its junction with the B996 after the tree toppled on Tuesday night. Fife Council confirmed the tree had been removed but said there were concerns that the roots of other trees had been loosened. The local authority said the road would remain closed until council workers had checked the stability of the other trees.
