The first Eliminator MTB Weekender Festival in Fife will feature a brand new event for cyclists and runners.
The new family-friendly mountain biking festival takes place over three days from Friday June 23 at Parkhill Farm in Newburgh.
Over the weekend, the fields will be transformed to host race events for all ages, and attractions including live music and a farmers’ market.
Muckmedden Events, Eventfull Sporting Events and Parkhill Farm have teamed up to bring cyclists and runners a new 30km off-road duathlon.
The Muckathlon will be staged on the Saturday June 24 and will follow a mostly off-road route using track around Parkhill Farm and the Fife Coastal Path. It is open to solos, pairs and teams of three working in a relay.
It is suitable for novice off-road cyclists and runners looking to try a new sporting discipline, while also offering a challenge for seasoned athletes.
Aaron Gray from festival organisers Muckmedden Events, said: “We’re so excited to be collaborating with Eventfull Sporting Events on our first duathlon.
“Obviously being part of a weekend-long festival means there’s so much more to the Muckathlon than just the race, so I hope people will stick around for the whole weekend and enjoy everything else that’s on offer.
“We are hugely grateful for the amazing support we have had for the Muckathlon and Eliminator MTB Weekender Festival from many different private businesses, community groups and public bodies including Fife Council and The Fife Coastal and Countryside Trust.”
