A tractor driver has died after his vehicle overturned on a Fife country road.
The 53-year-old, who has not been named, was pronounced dead at the scene after the accident between Ovenstone and Carnbee in the region’s East Neuk.
Emergency services were called to the scene at around 8.30pm on Wednesday but the driver had already succumbed to his injuries.
He was driving a Case agricultural tractor when it overturned.
Road policing officers are investigating the accident and have asked witnesses to come forward.
Sergeant Alastair Purvis said: “Sadly this incident has resulted in the death of the tractor driver and while we are satisfied no other vehicles were involved, we are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed what happened.
“Motorists or other members of the public who were on the Ovenstone to Carnbee road on Wednesday evening and who have information that can assist with our ongoing investigation should contact police immediately.”
Those with information can contact the Fife road policing unit via 101 and quote incident number 4074 of June 7.
