A Fife junior football club claims it is being ruined by fire-raisers who have struck four times in just eight months.
Kirkcaldy YM has lost its cafe and toilet, a lounge used by visiting teams and its club offices in separate, deliberate fires which are under investigation by the police.
All of the club’s memorabilia is also gone thanks to the “horrendous” actions of those responsible and officials say they have had enough.
The facilities were all contained in wooden cabins which have been destroyed.
All that is left is one metal cabin used as changing rooms.
The blazes follow a spate of attacks, including break-ins and vandalism, which started last summer.
Club secretary Jim Douglas said youths were regularly drinking near the Denfield Park ground on Smeaton Road, and at least 10 crime reports had been filled in since last year.
“It’s ruining a football club,” he said.
“We’re going to have to spend hundreds of pounds to clear this mess up and we don’t have a lot of money.”
Mr Douglas added: “One of the first ones targeted had all the club’s memorabilia in it going way back so we’ve lost all of our history.
“It’s absolutely horrendous.”
A spokesman for Police Scotland said the force was aware of a number of incidents at the club since October and was continuing to conduct inquiries to identify those responsible.
“These offences include fire-raising, break-ins, thefts and youth-related anti-social behaviour.
“Local officers will continue to liaise with staff at the club to provide any relevant crime prevention advice and anyone with information relating to any incidents on the premises should contact police immediately.”
The latest fire broke out on Friday May 26 and was extinguished by firefighters from Kirkcaldy.
Mr Douglas said the club needed help to get back on its feet and appealed to anyone who could offer financial assistance or the donation of a metal cabin to get in touch with club chairman Ramsay Budd on 01592 202066.
