Cupar Highland Games, which were due to be held on Saturday, have been cancelled following this week’s heavy rain.
Torrential rain on Tuesday and again throughout the day on Thursday has effectively put paid hopes of holding the annual event in Duffus Park this weekend, and organisers are now trying to find a suitable alternative date.
A spokesperson said: “Due to the poor weather forecast and ground conditions, reluctantly we have taken the decision to cancel the Games for Saturday June 10.
“We will try to reschedule with another date and more information will follow.
“We apologise for any inconvenience this might cause and will be in touch with all stall holders shortly.”
