Allan Bryant Sr reflected on another Father’s Day without his son while the police probe into his disappearance focused on a Glenrothes house.
A two-storey, end-terrace house in Barnton Place was guarded by police all weekend while forensic officers examined the property.
The search got under way more than three years after 23-year-old Allan Bryant Jr was last seen outside a local nightclub.
Mr Bryant, 51, believes his son is dead and spoke of the need for this latest development in the investigation to bring the family closure.
Updating the Find Allan Bryant jnr! Facebook page, he wrote: “Another Father’s Day without you Allan.
“So much has happened since Friday. I have talked to so many people from the press. I have lost track now things are really hard to cope with just now.
“The police are doing everything now to find out what has happened to you and I will be keeping the pressure on them too.
“We all miss and love you so much Allan.”
Detective Inspector Stuart Wilson of Police Scotland’s Major Investigation Team confirmed the developments at Barnton Place were in connection with the investigation into Allan Jr’s disappearance.
Having arrived at the property in the town’s Newcastle area on Friday, officers maintained a presence at the house through Saturday and Sunday.
Mr Bryant said: “The search will be ongoing over the weekend while the police conduct this search.
“I only ask can family, friends and the general public keep away from this area and let the police conduct the search.
“My family are devastated at the news and can only pray this may help us find the closure we so badly need.”
Allan Jr was 23 when he disappeared after a night out with friends on November 3, 2013.
He had been at Styx Nightclub on Glenrothes’ Caskieberran Road, with CCTV footage showing him leaving the venue in the early hours of the morning.
High profile appeals have been made by both his family and the police, while searches have been conducted throughout the town and across Fife.
However, there remains no trace of Allan Jr, who would now be 27.
Mr Wilson said: “Officers executed a search warrant at an address in Barnton Place, Glenrothes, on Friday June 16 in connection with the ongoing investigation into missing man, Allan Bryant.
“We remain committed to getting answers for the Bryant family and any information we receive from the community will be assessed and further action taken wherever appropriate.”
Mr Wilson added: “Anyone who may have information about Allan’s movements after he left Styx nightclub in Caskieberran Road in the early hours of 3 November 2013 is urged to get in touch as soon as possible and can pass information to Police Scotland by calling 101 or emailing operationtoner@scotland.pnn.police.uk”
