Image DC Thomson A woman has been taken to hospital following a three-vehicle crash on a busy Fife road. The incident took place on the A91 St Andrews to Auchtermuchty route near the turnoff to the Old Course Hotel at about 12.45pm. Police and two ambulance crews were rushed to the scene in St Andrews. The force said the smash left the three vehicles involved – a Chevrolet Cruze, Vauxhall Zafira and Citroen C1 – “badly damaged”. A woman, believed to be in her 40s, was taken to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee following the incident. However she was not said to be seriously injured. A police spokeswoman said: “We were called at around 12.45pm to the A91 in St Andrews before the turn off to the Old Course Hotel. “Three cars were involved. All cars were badly damaged and required to be recovered. One woman was taken to Ninewells as a precaution.” A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesman said: “We received a call at 12.39pm today to attend a road traffic collision on the A91. “We dispatched two ambulances to the scene. One female patient was taken to Ninewells Hospital.”
