Drugs and ammunition seized in raids across Fife

.

Fourteen people have been arrested in drugs busts across Fife totalling £23,000.

Drugs warrants were executed across the region last week, with substances including including cannabis, heroin and amphetamine seized from premises.

A further £9,950 in cash, three air weapons and ammunition were also confiscated.

Detective Inspector Stewart Andrew from Police Scotland’s Fife Division said: “We have continued our positive enforcement action to arrest individuals and recover drugs and weapons from our communities over the last week.

“In doing so, we are addressing concerns expressed in the Your View Counts survey which clearly indicate that the Fife community considers the supply of illegal drugs to be damaging and unacceptable with devastating consequences for families.

“We have carried out planned and focussed activity and will continue to do so with the ongoing assistance of the public which is crucial.”

As part of Operation Prospect, five of the raids were carried out in Glenrothes. Properties in Cullen Drive, Carfrae Drive, Broom Road, Fordell Road and Lady Alice Path were searched.

In addition, officers targeted adresses in Erskine Wynd in Oakley, Castle Avenue in Crosshill, Westwood Avenue in Kirkcaldy and Strathmore Street in Kinghorn.

Those arrested include four women, aged between 27 and 36, and 10 men aged between 23 and 53.

They have been charged under the Misuse of Drugs Act and are expected to appear in court at a later date.
