Two men suffered slight injuries following a crash on the Cowdenbeath to Burntisland road early on Wednesday morning.
Firefighters had to cut the roof off one of the vehicles involved in the accident, which took place on the A909 near to the B9157 Bernard’s Smiddy junction shortly after 7am, after one of the casualties was said to be “medically trapped”.
The driver of the other vehicle was said to be out of his car before the emergency services arrived.
Paramedics treated both men at the scene and they were taken to Kirkcaldy’s Victoria Hospital as a precaution, although neither suffered serious injuries.
Police said the accident involved a Citroen C4 and a Vauxhall Corsa, and confirmed that the road did not need to be closed.
A spokesperson for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said two crews, one from Burntisland and one from Kirkcaldy, used hydraulic cutting equipment to release the driver of one of the vehicles.
