Police swooped on a Fife pub when an officer was hurt during a disturbance.
A fleet of squad cars descended on the Woodside Inn, in Glenrothes, when the alarm was raised that an officer was down.
Firefighters and paramedics also rushed to the scene.
The officer, however, escaped serious injury and is believed to have sustained only a dislocated knee when he fell.
A man was arrested in connection with the incident, which occurred around 6pm on Friday.
Bar worker Caroline Cook said the drama occurred after someone was asked to leave the premises and police had to be called.
She said: “I felt sorry for the police officer, he fell and dislocated his knee, the poor guy.”
When word got out that an officer was down, she said, the emergency response escalated.
She said: “At one point we had six police cars here and there was a fire engine.
“It took quite a while for the ambulance to arrive but the policeman was being well looked after by the fire brigade.”
The officer was taken away in an ambulance.
A photograph posted on social media appeared to show him lying on the ground being treated by a firefighter outside the pub in Woodside Way.
Police Scotland said it could issue no information about the incident when contacted by The Courier at the weekend.
However, Glenrothes officers confirmed on Twitter that their colleague was not badly hurt.
They posted: “@GlenrothesPol apprehended a male following a disturbance at a local pub. Officer injured but not seriously, thankfully.”
