Two people were taken to hospital following separate accidents on Fife’s roads on Friday.
Fire crews from Glenrothes were called to the notorious Cadham junction on the A92, near the car wash, after a two-car accident involving a Mitsubishi ASX and a VW Polo at around 2.20pm.
The driver of the latter had to be cut free from his vehicle and was taken to Kirkcaldy’s Victoria Hospital with a spinal injury.
A Police Scotland spokesman said he was taken to hospital as a precaution.
The incident caused significant traffic disruption in the area and buses had to be diverted for a time before the road reopened just after 3.30pm.
Meanwhile, a woman was taken to Dundee’s Ninewells Hospital suffering from a suspected neck injury after a crash in Cupar’s Crossgate shortly before 9am.
Firefighters used hydraulic rescue equipment to remove the woman from her vehicle.
