A Cupar man who caused a disturbance outside a Dunfermline supermarket has been banned from returning to the town.
Gavin Simm was so drunk during a visit to see a friend he could not remember what he had done after being arrested.
He had attracted the attention of staff at the Tesco store in Dunfermline town centre and went on to threaten to kill people in the street nearby.
Simm, 24, of Bobber Wynd, Cupar, appeared from custody at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.
He admitted that on September 6 at Carnegie Drive, Dunfermline, he behaved in a threatening or abusive manner by shouting, swearing, repeatedly brandished a bottle, made threats of violence and made threatening gestures.
Depute fiscal Azrah Yousaf said that around 9pm Simm was at the Tesco store and when he left he was followed by a staff member and a community warden.
Simm began to shout and swear at them and the police were contacted.
The warden and staff member continued to follow Simm as he walked along Carnegie Drive.
He was seen to have a bottle and was brandishing it at them as he asked why was being followed.
He repeatedly shouted: “I’ll cut your f****** heads off” and ran his finger along his throat.
The depute went on: “When police arrived Simm was still acting aggressively. He disappeared for a short time and was then found in a bush.”
He then shouted: “I’ll cut your heads off with a circular saw” and was detained.
Simm later told police: “I was drunk and didn’t have a clue what I was doing.”
Defence solicitor Lee Qumsieh said his client had come to Dunfermline to visit a friend. He had been drinking and had no recollection of events until he was in the police van.
“He accepts this behaviour must have been quite alarming for the witnesses,” he added.
Sheriff Robert Weir called for reports and put Simm on a home curfew from 7pm to 7am. He is also banned for entering Dunfermline other than for court appearances. Simm will be sentenced on October 4.
