The alarm was raised around 9pm on Sunday. Both lifeboats from Anstruther were scrambled to extricate the casualty. Lifeboat crew were met on the shore by Coastguard rescue teams from Leven and St Andrews. The man was then handed into the care of the ambulance service. His condition is not known.
