The death of a woman found seriously injured in a Dunfermline garden is not suspicious, police have confirmed.
Margaret Campbell was found in the garden of a property on the town’s Izatt Avenue on Monday morning with serious injuries.
She later died in hospital.
However, officers have now confirmed they do not believe the incident to be suspicious.
Detective Inspector Paul Dick of Fife Division’s CID said: “We can now confirm that the death of a woman found seriously injured in Dunfermline is non-suspicious.
“The woman, aged in her sixties, was found injured in the garden of a property on Izatt Avenue shortly after 8am on Monday 25 September.
“She was taken to the Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy where she sadly passed away later that day and a full investigation was launched to establish the circumstances surrounding her injuries.
“Her family have been fully informed of this development and our thoughts remain with them at this difficult time. A report has been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
