The biker was airlifted to Ninewells Hospital, Dundee, after the accident on the A917 at Drumeldrie. The female driver of the car and her daughter were said to be uninjured in the incident but the vehicle was badly damaged. The road was closed between Upper Largo and Colinsburgh for six hours to allow for detailed collision investigations at the accident blackspot. Diversions were in place and the area was extremely busy with traffic for most of the day and into the evening. A police spokesman said on Saturday: “Around 12.30pm police received a report of a road collision involving two vehicles on the A917. “One injured party was taken to Ninewells Hospital, Dundee, where they are being treated for their injuries. “Enquiries are continuing.” Saturday’s crash was the second serious accident involving a motorcyclist in Courier country in two days. On Friday afternoon, a 27-year-old man was killed following a collision with a car at Barry in Angus.
