A Fife footballer was sent off at the weekend for fighting with his own fans.
The incident came in the East of Scotland Cup clash between Oakley United and Tranent Juniors at the former’s Blairwood Park home, near Dunfermline.
According to the visitors’ social media accounts, Oakley’s goalkeeper was red-carded for climbing into the support and headbutting a fan.
The club’s Facebook account reported: “Half time entertainment was provided by the Oakley GK and 4 of the home support who looked to have had a few sherbets, when the GK who was subjected to verbal abuse by these screwballs the whole half jumped the barrier a waded into the 4 of them.
“Head butts, upper cuts and kung fu kicks were on the menu all witnessed by players, supporters including many children and referee.
“Disgraceful scenes that was terrible to see, the news came out before the second half that the ref had sent off the Oakley No 1, rightly so, but although it was doing us a favour I thought he was unfairly treated buy these idiots.”

Oakley, who finished the game with nine players, had been losing 2-1 at the time and the game eventually finished 5-1.
The club has been approached for comment.
