Christmas festivities at Kirkcaldy’s Victoria Hospital have already started in earnest with the help of pupils from a local school.
Youngsters from Kirkcaldy North Primary School came along to sing Christmas songs in the main reception area, before visiting the Children’s Ward.
Healthcare chaplain Stephen Steiner said: “We were delighted to welcome pupils from Kirkcaldy North this week.
“The children are all members of the school’s choir and were very excited to be able to visit the hospital.”
The children also brought along a gift bag on behalf of the school, to be given to the first baby born on Christmas Day in the hospital’s Maternity Unit.
NHS Fife chair Tricia Marwick and NHS Fife chief executive Paul Hawkins accepted the gift on behalf of the health board.
Mrs Marwick said: “It is wonderful to have the children here with us today and it is a pleasure to accept this kind and thoughtful gift.”
Mr Hawkins added: “What a great start to the festive season here in the hospital.
“The patients and staff enjoyed the children’s visit and it was a pleasure to hear them singing.
“I would like to thank the children and their teacher, Miss Abigail King, for coming along to sing for us.”
