A large barn estimated to contain 1,000 tonnes of hay bales caught fire on Friday night near Cupar in Fife.
A total of seven fire appliances attended the fire at Damside Mill to try to contain the flames – which took hold in a large Dutch aluminium barn at around 4.30pm.
Dozens of firemen from Cupar, Auchtermuchty, Glenrothes, St Andrews, Lochgelly and Methill stations fought the blaze for several hours before containing it at around 10pm.
Some fire crews remained on the scene for several hours afterwards to ensure the area was safe as the effort was scaled back.
The cost of the damage is not yet known with the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service to carry out an investigation into its cause.
It was previously believed that the barn was owned by ABN, however, this is not the case.
