Police are searching for a 13-year-old boy missing from Kirkcaldy since Wednesday.
Jay Begbie was reported missing from the town’s Lochlea Grove and concerns are mounting for his welfare.
It is thought he was in Edinburgh on Thursday but he has not been in contact with his family.
Police Scotland issued an appeal to the public to look out for the youngster.
Kirkcaldy community sergeant, Jimmy Adamson, said: “We believe Jay was in Edinburgh at the Christmas market and in Princess Street and Waverley Station on Thursday afternoon.
“However, Jay has not been in contact with family or friends today (Friday) and we are growing increasingly concerned for his welfare.”
Jay is described as 5ft 8in tall and slim, with short brown, curly hair. He is believed to be wearing an orange jacket, black jeans and black trainers.
Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to contact police on 101, quoting incident number 0108 of December 28.
