Five people have been taken to hospital following two road crashes in Fife involving five vehicles and an HGV.
A woman was cut free from a van in a serious collision with a car on the A91 between Cupar and Dairsie.
Two people involved in the smash were taken to Ninewells Hospital, Dundee.
The incident occurred at around 6.40am and Police Scotland, the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and two ambulances rushed to the scene.
The road was closed until around 9am.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Police in Fife are currently in attendance following a serious two-vehicle road traffic collision on the A91 near Cupar.
“The incident happened around 6.40am on Wednesday January 10 between Cupar and Dairsie.
“Police and emergency services attended and the road was closed for a period of time and re-opened around 9am.
“Inquiries are currently ongoing.
“Anyone with information is asked to contact officers at Fife Road Policing Unit on 101, quoting incident number 0416 of January 10.”
Three casualties, described as walking wounded, were taken to hospital after an HGV and three cars were involved in a collision at the Redhouse roundabout on the A92 at Kirkcaldy at 8.45am.
A Scottish Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “We dispatched two ambulances, two paramedic response units, a manager, our special operations team and an urgent tier vehicle to the scene.
“Three patients were transported to Victoria Hospital, Kirkcaldy.”
A police spokesperson said: “Thankfully, no one was seriously injured.”
One lane of the eastbound carriageway was blocked and traffic was reported to be at a standstill.
However, Traffic Scotland reported at 11am that the road had been fully reopened.
