Police in Fife are becoming increasingly concerned for the welfare of a man missing since Saturday afternoon.
A helicopter and the coastguard were pulled in on Saturday night to assist in the search for 46-year-old John Keir, last seen in the Simon Crescent area of Methilhill at 1pm.
Mr Keir has a medical condition which requires medication and officers are appealing to anyone who knows where he is to get in touch as soon as possible.
Although he lives in Levenmouth, he is also said to have links to East Wemyss, Dunfermline and Aberdeen.
He is described as white, 5ft 6ins tall and of stocky build.
He has a shaven head and when last seen was wearing a black jacket with the logo ‘DIGICO’ and black trousers.
Detective Sergeant Paula Warrender from Levenmouth Police Station said: “I would ask anyone who has seen John to contact officers immediately.Â
“We believe John may be travelling by foot or public transport and would ask the public to be vigilant and report any sightings to officers.
“John lives with a medical condition that requires medication and I would urge anyone who knows where he is to contact us as soon as possible.
“If John sees or hears this appeal, I would urge him to get in touch with family, friends, or with police, to let us know that he is safe.”
Those with information can contact Levenmouth Police Station via 101, quoting incident number 3560 of January 27.
