The child was struck on Methilhill Road in Methil shortly before 4.40pm. Eyewitnesses said he had been hit by a car. The nature of his injuries is unknown. A spokesman for Police Scotland confirmed officers had attended the incident. He said: “We were called to an RTA involving a five-year-old child on Methilhill Road at 4.38pm. “He has been taken to hospital.”
