Members of Strathkinness Beaver Scout Colony, part of the 8th Fife Scout Group, enjoyed a visit to Jannettas Gelateria in St Andrews,
The Beavers, who have been working on their Cooks Activity Badge, spent the evening finding out about the history, heritage and the art of gelato making and of course got to taste the real stuff!
Owen Hazel, owner of Jannettas Gelateria said: “Engaging with young people within our local community is very important to us.
“We were delighted to host the Beavers and spend time with them.
“It was a pleasure also to take part in the investiture of two new Beavers and celebrate the success of many others by issuing badges.
“They were a terrific bunch of young engaged people who we hope were inspired by what they heard and saw.
“We congratulate the Leaders on the continued success of their colony and reaching their first anniversary.”
Steve Linton, Group Scout Leader, 8th Fife said: “Just a year after opening our newest section, it’s fantastic to see the Strathkinness Beaver colony thriving and the Beavers starting on their Scouting journey.”
The Colony which is celebrating its first anniversary now has 17 eager Beavers in their ranks.
In order to keep up with demand, two of the Scout Leaders Richard Burns and Ross Mackenzie are now also setting up a Cub Pack in Strathkinness.
