A young boy rushed to hospital after being struck by a car on Sunday afternoon is suffering from “non-life threatening” injuries, it has emerged.
The child was said to be seriously injured following the collision with a vehicle at Carnock Road, Oakley, at around 4.55pm, and was subsequently taken to the Royal Hospital for Sick Children in Edinburgh by ambulance.
An investigation is continuing into what happened but the youngster, who is understood to be nine or 10-years-old, is expected to make a full recovery.
Anyone who may have witnessed the accident should contact Police Scotland on 101.
The A907 between Sir George Bruce Road and Station Road was closed for several hours while investigations were carried out.
A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We received a call at 1652 on Sunday 11 February to attend a road traffic incident on Carnock Road, Oakley.
“We dispatched an ambulance and a trauma team to the scene and a child under-10 was taken to the Royal Hospital for Sick Children, Edinburgh.”
