VIDEO: Beauty and the Beast – Snow transforms Cupar into a winter wonderland

It’s been an unprecedented spell of heavy snow, bitter winds and difficult – nigh impossible – driving conditions which has seen all Fife schools closed, trains cancelled and forced many people to take time off work or at least work from home.

But the so-called Beast from the East hasn’t all been bad.

It’s transformed otherwise familiar landscapes into winter wonderlands.

Here, The Courier’s Michael Alexander shares a selection of images – and videos – he’s captured on his camera phone in and around Cupar; from ice floating in the River Eden to white out blizzards and unusual snow drifts in nearby fields.
