As an elite rescue force, the RNLI is used to facing some of the harshest weather conditions to hit Scotland.
While normally more at home on the sea, one group of local volunteers took to the land to help those in need as the Beast from the East gripped Courier Country.
The Anstruther crew spent Thursday picking-up much needed prescriptions from local doctors and pharmacies and delivering them by hand to members of the community who were unable to collect themselves because of the snow.
Martin Macnamara, a volunteer lifeboat crewmember from Anstruther said: “As lifeboat volunteers it isn’t our normal type of activity but the weather has been severe.
“We saw there was a need and are happy to help members of the community who wouldn’t have been able to get their prescriptions otherwise.”
