Fife Violence Against Women Partnership is supporting International Women’s Day.
Anne Aberdein, chair of the partnership’s prevention group, said: “The first International Women’s Day was at a time when women were fighting for the right to vote.
“We are celebrating the 100th anniversary this year, remembering the brave and inspirational women who joined together to successfully challenge the clear discrimination.”
Despite legislation many women continued to be disadvantaged, she said.
“So while we want to celebrate the journey so far, we still have a long way to go.
“In Fife every year there are thousands of women living with domestic abuse, being sexual assaulted or harassed.
“Fife Violence Against Women Partnership is committed to reducing violence against women and its impact.”
