Police investigating a sudden death in Kirkcaldy on Wednesday do not believe it to be suspicious.
A man in his 50s is said to have suffered serious head injuries after a fall at Williamson’s Quay in the harbour area of the town.
His body was found shortly before 7pm.
A block of flats at the end of the Esplanade was cordoned off for some time on Wednesday night as officers investigated the incident.
In a statement issued on Thursday morning, a Police Scotland spokeswoman said: “Police in Fife responded to Williamson’s Quay, Kirkcaldy, where the body of a man was found around 6.53pm on Wednesday May 16.
“Inquiries are ongoing but this is not thought to be suspicious.”
