Kinghorn RNLI’s volunteer crew were called into action on Monday afternoon after a yacht suffered rudder failure in the Firth of Forth.
The 20 foot vessel, which was carrying two people and a dog, got into trouble east of Inchcolm Island shortly before 2.30pm and the Kinghorn lifeboat was quickly on the scene to assist.
The crew took the yacht and its occupants to Granton, ably assisted by colleagues from Fisherrow Coastguard and South Queensferry Coastguard.
A Kinghorn RNLI spokesperson said: “The black Labrador Mandy wasn’t phased by the whole experience!”
Mandy was one of those rescued by the lifeboat crew.
