Two men have been arrested in connection with an incident in Kirkcaldy.
Armed police swooped on the Templehall area after a report of a man with a gun.
A 37-year-old man and a 27-year-old man are due to appear in the town’s sheriff court on Wednesday.
Part of Valley Gardens was cordoned off as officers dealt with the incident, which occurred around 5.40pm.
Police dogs were also brought in and officers were seen searching nearby bushes.
A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: “Police in Fife have arrested and charged two men following a report of a man in possession of a firearm.
“Specialist officers, including armed response units and dog handlers, were called to the Valley Gardens area of Kirkcaldy around 5.40pm on Tuesday, July 3.
“The men aged 37 and 27 years old are expected to appear at Kirkcaldy Sherriff Court today, Wednesday, July 4.”
