A red-faced Fife Council driver was ticketed by one of his own colleagues after leaving his work branded vehicle illegally parked outside the local authority’s admin HQ.
The vehicle, which was advertising the collection of mobility aids, was left partially blocking a disabled parking space and on double yellow lines outside the Town House in Kirkcaldy.
The incident, which was happened on Tuesday morning, was spotted by an eagle-eyed member of the public.
They said: “It’s good to see that the council parking wardens don’t show favouritism. But it’s a bit embarrassing for them all the same.”
Tom Henderson, Service Manager for the council, said: “Our vehicles are used by a large number of employees from various services but they are all given relevant training and encouraged at all times to drive not only safely but also considerately.
“Anyone committing a traffic offence in one of our vehicles would be held personally liable and may be subject to an internal investigation as part of our disciplinary procedures.”
