A smirking domestic abuser was warned he faces being jailed after headbutting his pregnant girlfriend in the face.
Danny Smith plead guilty to attacking his partner, who was three months pregnant with his child, on June 10 at an address in Golfdrum Street, Dunfermline.
The 20-year-old left the young girl with a bloody nose and face during the drunken attack which happened after she tried to calm him down at a party.
Smith, of Henrietta Street in Wick, smiled and laughed whilst he sat in the dock flanked by two G4S officers at Dunfermline Sheriff Court after pleading guilty to the horrifying assault.
He also admitted verbally abusing paramedics and staff at the Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy on March 18.
The thug also assaulted a police officer by biting him on the body during the same drunken incident and series of other drunken bail breaches.
Sheriff James MacDonald quickly wiped the smile off his face after warning the thug he was facing a significant period behind bars.
He said: “You should be under no illusion whatsoever.
“You are in serious danger of spending a significant period of time in custody and the likelihood is that consecutive sentences will be imposed.
“A new address has been discovered for a possible restriction of liberty order.
“Because you are just 20-years-old, it is the court’s duty to consider all direct alternatives to custody before reaching a final view.”
Defence solicitor Selina Mackay told the court Smith was looking forward to becoming a father but had issues with alcohol.
She said: “It seems to be that if he doesn’t abstain from alcohol completely, then he will start and he can’t stop which results in a complete character change for him with a complete lack of memory.
“The complainer, who is in court, is pregnant with Mr Smith’s child and he wants to be around to see that child growing up.
“He has never spent any extended period of time in custody until now and that has given him a fright.”
The thug plead guilty to acting in a threatening and abusive manner by shouting, swearing, challenging others to a fight, punching and headbutting a window, kicking a door and uttering threats of violence at Almond Road on March 3.
Smith admitted breaching a special bail condition not to consume alcohol on March 22 this year.
He breached bail again on March 9 by entering a restricted property. Just days later, on March 18, he again acted in a threatening and abusive manner at Seagal Place.
He pled guilty to a further breach by being under the influence, failing to provide a breath specimen and flouting a curfew order at Golfdrum Street on June 10.
Sheriff MacDonald remanded Smith in custody to allow for reports and ordered to him to reappear for sentencing on August 1.
