A man has had to be cut free from his car following an accident near Kirkcaldy Ice Rink, police have revealed.
Emergency services were called to the scene in Rosslyn Street at around 1.30pm following a report of a two vehicle collision.
Representatives from Police Scotland, the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and the Scottish Ambulance Service all attended.
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said crews used hydraulic cutting equipment to free the injured man from his vehicle, while a woman also involved in the crash was also helped to safety by firefighters.
The spokesperson said the man had been “medically trapped”, which means a person is effectively trapped in their car due to injury, as opposed to the crash damage preventing them from getting out of their own accord.
Both were treated by paramedics at the scene and taken to Kirkcaldy’s Victoria Hospital.
