Police were called to the Nisa branch on Victoria Road in Leven at around 7.15am on Saturday. It is understood that a BB gun was involved in the robbery where a quantity of alcohol was said to have been taken. One local resident, who wished not to be named, told how she saw a heavy police presence shortly after the incident. She said: “I had just gone down to get my morning rolls when I saw that the shop was closed and the police were there. “The girl in the Nisa had put up a poster saying they were going to be shut for a while because they had been robbed. “It’s just terrible and must have been so frightening for any of the staff if they were there at the time. “There are a lot of good people in this community and it’s such a shame that things like this happening put us in a bad light to others.” No one was injured during the incident. The shop reopened at around midday. Police Scotland have confirmed that three individuals are currently in custody following the armed raid. A spokesman added: “Inquiries are ongoing.”
