A woman is recovering in hospital after suffering head injuries in a two-car crash near the New Inn Roundabout on Wednesday evening.
Emergency services were called to the A914 near Muirhead following the accident shortly after 5.35pm.
Both cars overturned and three people were hurt in the accident, namely two men and a woman.
The latter was trapped and had to be released by firefighters before all three were taken to Dundee’s Ninewells Hospital. The two men had managed to get out of their car before ambulances arrived.
The road was closed in both directions for almost six hours.
Two fire crews from Glenrothes were called out to assist.
