This is the touching moment a Fife pupil learns all of her hard work has paid off — as she achieves the exam grades she needs to follow her dream of studying at St Andrews University.
Kirkcaldy High School pupil Taylor Williams is one of around 135,000 pupils finding out their fate as exam results day arrives in Scotland.
Taylor, who has just left school after a busy sixth year, was delighted with her outcome.
“I got an A in Classical Studies, an A in English, a B in History and an A in Latin,” she said.

“I got the exact grades I needed because I needed three As and a B to get into geography at St Andrews University, so I got them and I’m really happy.”
Education executive director Carrie Lindsay wished everyone getting their results the very best.
“We’ve got over 9,000 young people opening their results today so we wish them all well,” she added.
“Congratulations to everyone for all their hard work.”
