Emergency services were called to the scene in the town’s Napier Road shortly after 1pm on Wednesday. A workman was trapped at a site on Napier Road, Glenrothes. A spokeswoman for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said they had received a call of a man trapped by the legs. Crews rushed to the scene to extricate the workman. An air ambulance transported him to hospital. A worker got trapped down a hole on Napier Road, Glenrothes. His condition is not yet known although the man has now been removed from the hole. The fire crews carried out a rope rescue to free the injured man from the trench. It would appear moving soil caused him to become trapped. The man was put in the care of the ambulance service for treatment. The air ambulance at the Glenrothes building site. A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We received a call at 12.57pm today to attend an address on Napier Road in Glenrothes. “We dispatched one ambulance, our special operations response teams, the trauma team, an officer and our Helimed air ambulance to the incident.”
