Police are appealing for witnesses after a late-night raid at a North Queensferry convenience store.
The alarm was triggered at around 1.15am on August 23 after a thief smashed their way into the Wrights premises on Brock Street.
The raider, armed with hammer, made off with a quantity of cigarettes and a two-figure sum of cash.
Officers are keen to speak to a man who is believed to have been in the area at around the time of the incident and have issued a description.
A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: “Police in Fife are investigating a break-in and theft at a business in North Queensferry.
“The incident took place around 1.15am on Thursday 23rd August in Brock Street, when a two-figure sum of cash and cigarettes were stolen.
“Officers are eager to speak to a man seen in the area at this time, who it’s believed may be able to assist with this investigation.
“He is described as being 5ft 10ins to 6ft tall, of skinny build, wearing light-coloured trousers, a beige top, a dark scarf around his face and a dark beanie hat with a white pattern on it.
“Anyone with information which may be able to help is urged to contact Dunfermline CID via  101, quoting incident 0167 of 23rd August, or report this anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
