An elderly man’s fall sparked an emergency services alert at Kinghorn Beach on Saturday morning.
The RNLI lifeboat crew at Kinghorn and the Scottish Ambulance Service were called at around 11.30am to a report of a man who had fallen while walking on the rocks.
Eyewitnesses said the man had been struggling to get up at the water’s edge with the tide coming in, prompting the response from emergency services.
However, paramedics were able to help the gentleman up and escort him off the beach for further assessment before the lifeboat needed to be launched.
It is understood the Kinghorn crew had been kitted out in any case and were ready to assist but were not needed in any great capacity.
Police Scotland and the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service were also called, but they too were not required.
