Dunfermline’s fireworks display has been cancelled due to high winds.
Thousands were expected to flock to Pittencrieff Park for the Saturday evening show, one of the biggest free events of its kind in Scotland.
However, organisers decided to call off the festivities on the grounds of safety, with wind gusts of up to 27mph predicted.
Michelle McWilliams, of Dunfermline Delivers, said: “Dunfermline Delivers has had to take the very difficult decision to cancel tonight’s fireworks.
“After careful and detailed consideration of the weather forecast, which predicts very high winds, we are extremely disappointed that we have had to make this decision but public safety is paramount.”
