A blaze in a Kennoway field on Saturday evening is believed to have been started by a firework. Nine firefighters doused the flames in stubble in the harvested field behind houses at Halfields Gardens. The alarm was raised at around 8.20pm and the fire was quickly extinguished by 9.10pm. It is reckoned that a spark from a rocket had ignited the field.
