Around 10 firefighters are tackling a blaze which broke out at a fish and chip shop in Anstruther on Sunday afternoon.
The fire was reported at The Wee Chippy in Shore Street shortly before 12.45pm and two crews from Anstruther and St Monans were called.
All persons were accounted for and gas and electricity supplies were isolated as fire personnel dealt with the situation.
They used one main jet, four sets of breathing apparatus and a thermal image camera during the call-out.
An investigation into the exact cause of the fire is expected to be carried out in due course, and it is too early to say how much damage has been done to the building.
Shore Street itself was closed as emergency services got to work and was expected to be closed for much of the afternoon.
