An investigation into an alleged assault on a young woman in St Andrews has concluded with no prosecution made.
Police launched a probe into a report that the 22-year-old had been attacked in Doubledykes Road in the early hours of last Thursday.
An area around Kinburn play park was cordoned off as officers investigated.
Police Scotland revealed on Monday the investigation was over.
A force spokesperson said: “Inquiries into a report of an assault on a 22-year-old woman in the Doubledykes area of St Andrews around 1.15 am on Thursday, November 8 have concluded.
“Following an investigation officers are satisfied that there was no criminality.”
