Road users have been urged to avoid Leslie Road in Glenrothes as work on the town’s £24 million local heat scheme continues.
Temporary traffic lights are controlling the traffic on Leslie Road as pipes are installed, but those behind the programme say the route is extremely busy with lengthy delays at peak times.
Fife Council has asked motorists to consider an alternative route or leave themselves extra time for their journey. The works are due to finish on that section of road by the end of November.
Works are progressing well on the Queensgate and Fullerton Road, where access is being maintained for local businesses and customers, while Kingdom Avenue is due to reopen to traffic on Saturday morning.
